Anil Kant – Christian Song Writer

Anil Kant is an internationally renowned singer, musician, song writer and Christian worship leader in India, who has recorded 12 music albums in past 6 years. He is also a founder of ‘Anil Kant International ministry’ (AKIM) which is growing in stature and is impacting millions across the world for Jesus Christ.

In October 2005 Anil Kant has partnered with CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network) to host a daily Christian program on two of the leading Indian secular channels to reach to the millions of Hindi speaking viewers. The program titled “Ek Nayee Zindagi” means ‘A new life’ in Hindi. It is the first Hindi daily Christian program and is receiving a good response. Along with this the team of AKIM has started a unique program “Zindagi Forever” (Life or live forever) that captures the intimate presence of God through music, bringing fresh sounds and songs to the Indian people with the good news of Eternal Life through Jesus Christ. This is the very first Hindi program on the God channel.

Anil Kant comes from a Hindu, Punjabi family. His parents being very religious and devout, had taught the Hindu Scriptures to Anil since a very young age. In spite of growing up in a very Spiritual family Anil felt that he was missing something. Music was an integral part of his life so he decided to take it as his career. His wonderful wife was also very inclined to music. Anil was writing songs for his Christian friends and composing music for them when he came across the famous Bible verse: “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through me”.  (Bible – John 14:16) This is an exclusive and extraordinary claim made by Jesus during his life on Earth (Read more about Claims of Jesus). It had huge impact on Anil. That very night he felt as if Jesus was talking to him that He is the only way, and the truth. The Word became so real to him. And he surrendered his life to Jesus Christ.

Gradually Anil’s wife Reena also saw a change in her husband. She resisted this new found god in Anil’s life but Anil asked him if she knew what will happen to her if she died today? He also asked her to search the answers in any Scriptures. When Reena read about the cross of Christ and the forgiveness of her sins, she also accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and savior.
